The Ripple Effect puzzle is visually similar to Suguru, i.e. numbers from 1 to 5 distributed in regions of size 1 to 5 in a rectangular grid. The difference is that in Suguru, a number in a cell must be different from the numbers in the neighboring cells around that cell, whereas in Ripple Effect the number of cell a number must not be in depends on the number in question. For example, if a cell contains a 4, then the four cell to the right, left, above and below it must not contain a 4. Note that unlike Suguru, this does not apply to diagonal cells. You must therefore fill each region with the numbers according to the size of the region (a region of size 1 will have the number 1, a region of size 2 will have the numbers 1 and 2 and so on up to regions of size 5).
This constraint, linked to the number of neighboring cells a number must not occupy, brings a new challenge as well as a certain amount of fun to solving this game.

Similar to Suguru with only a slight difference in the rules we can say that the Ripple Effect puzzles (Rules of Ripple Effect) is a different game. The difference is : in Suguru if a cell has a number then all the cells touching this initial cell cannot have this number while if a cell in a Ripple Effect has a number then the number of cells not touching the initial cell depends on the value of the number in the initial cell. For example, if a cell contains the number 3 then the 3 cells at the right, left up and down the initial cell cannot have the number 3 (in fact the initial cell is in the middle of a cross) . Notice that contrary to Suguru the Ripple Effect ignore the diagonals so you just have to take into account the four directions around the cell (north, east, south and west). The other rule is common to the two puzzles: each region of size N must contain all the number from 1 to N.
OK,enough discussion try these two 8x8 Ripple effect puzzles.

The Ripple Effect puzzle (Rules of Ripple Effect) looks the same as the Suguru, the distinctions are that you can put the same number in a diagonal cell, and that in a column or a row two numbers N must have at least N cells before them without having the number N. If a cell has a 5 then in the next five cells , up, down, right or left no must 5 appears. Try these two puzzles will please you !.
