The Chessboard Sudoku (I will use this name until I find a better one) is a mix of the chaos sudoku and the even sudoku. It is made of white and grey squares like a chessboard and has regions of irregular shapes. The grid size is usually 10x10, but another size is possible (8x8, 12x12), but the size must be even. Like classical sudoku, each region, row and column must have all the numbers from 1 to 10 (in a 10x10 grid). Each white square must have an even number (2,4,6,8 and 10) and each grey square must have an odd number (1,3,5,7 and 9). This is a 6x6 grid and the solution.

This juxtaposition of the two kinds of sudoku (chaos and even) makes the puzzle more captivating. It could happen that sometimes it is easier to resolve all the squares of the same colour and to finish by resolving the squares of the other colour. Or we could alternate between the two colours.
